The Mariners are a unit of Medinah Shriner's Organization. We are pleasure boaters that support the ideals of the Shrine Fraternity and support our Childrens hospitals.

Our membership comprises of sail & power boaters that can be found on Lake Michigan, Chain-O-Lakes and some private lakes.

Venetian Night is the longest running event that the City of Chicago produces. The parade of artistically (and sometimes stunningly) decorated boats attracts both Chicagoans and visitors to Chicago's lakefront. It began in 1958, and this is the 24th. year for the Mariners

Each summer the city of Chicago hosts a spectacular parade of decorated boats and a fireworks display on Lake Michigan called Venetian Night. The Medinah Mariners always enter this parade of boats displaying Shrinedom. This parade is viewed by over half a million spectators. On Saturday, July 29, 2007 we were in the parade with, Scott Wagner, Skipper of $ales Calls, and Gypsy Lady  owned by Jim Wright, Rear Commodore, Chicago Yachting Association, and Past Commodore of Columbia Yacht Club.
The boat was driven by Craig Horton, a friend and member of Columbia yacht Club.
Some of Medinah's  Divan &  Medinah Units joined us.

A Shriners purpose and commitment always is first and foremost their hospitals for children. If you know of a child that can benefit from treatment at a Shriner's Hospital, contact any Shriner, Shrine facility or call toll-free
1 800 237-5055 for information on how to receive an application form.

Would you like to become a member of Medinah Shriners?
If you are already a Noble of Medinah why not become a Mariner? You do not have to own a boat to become a Mariner.
