The Mariners are a unit of Medinah Shriner's Organization. We are pleasure boaters that support the ideals of the Shrine Fraternity and support our Childrens hospitals.
Our membership comprises of sail & power boaters that can be found on Lake Michigan, Chain-O-Lakes and some private lakes.
Venetian Night is the longest running event that the City of Chicago produces. The parade of artistically (and sometimes stunningly) decorated boats attracts both Chicagoans and visitors to Chicago's lakefront. It began in 1958, and this is the 25th. year for the Mariners
Each summer the city of Chicago hosts a spectacular parade of decorated boats and a fireworks display on Lake Michigan called Venetian Night. The Medinah Mariners always enter this parade of boats displaying Shrinedom. This parade is viewed by over half a million spectators. On Saturday, July 26, 2008 Scott Wagner, Skipper of $ales Calls, Won second place for Sail Boats non commercial sponsered. This was the 25th. straight year for Scott. HERE HERE It was a long journey for many of us.
